Angel Toumajian

Salwan Toumajian | Co-Founder Salwan Toumajian is the co-founder of PEACE (Promoting Eastern Artisan Collaborative Effort). Born in Baghdad in 1961, Salwan studied at Baghdad High School and at the age of 14 left Iraq to Manchester, England. Here she studied at Whalley Range High School but soon after moved to the USA and in 1984 graduated from the University of Houston, Texas with a BS in Pharmacy. Toumajian worked as a pharmacist for corporate America until 2014. In 2013, she opened Amber Jar Pharmacy with her partner Rania Meade, through which she hadthe opportunity to work closely with refugees. This eventually and ultimately led to the formation of PEAC

Rand Omran

Rand Omran | Co-FounderRand Omran is the co-founder of PEACE (Promoting Eastern Artisan Collaborative Effort). She studied at the University of Baghdad 1986 to 2007, first gaining a BA in Political Science from the College of Law and Politics, Baghdad University and subsequently an MA and PhD Political Systems.From 1999 to 2007 Omran conducted research, organised seminars and coordinated lectures for the University of Baghdad's International Studies Center. Her passion for women's rights led her to establish the Women's Leadership Institute with other female colleagues in Baghdad in 2006. In this role, she conducted research and implemented projects to enhance political participation by Iraqi women
Gina Toumajian

Gina Lulu Toumajian| Co-Founder Gina Lulu is the chief development strategist for the PEACE team. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.S. in Human Biology. Her activism in the local refugee community has afforded refugees, asylees and new immigrants resources and support networks that have ensured successful resettlement. Her focus on refugee mental health and wellness is at the heart of every event we host or support. Gina is fluent in Arabic, English, and Spanish.
Gina Lulu aspires to attend medical school. In addition to her role with PEACE, she is currently a grants manager and program lead at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Houston.
